How a BESS Helps Reduce Energy Costs

The economic effect of a BESS depends on the system operating mode, the facility’s load profile, and the use case. For this configuration, the system can be used to reduce peak loads and provide backup power for critical equipment. The exact economic effect is calculated individually for each facility.

Peak Load Reduction (Peak Shaving)

The BESS covers part of the load during peak-demand hours, helping reduce peak consumption.

Shifting Consumption to Lower-Cost Hours

The BESS charges when electricity is cheaper and supplies stored energy during higher-cost periods.
